SuperWhisper came out of the Mac developer scene. It got popular fast, and when Andrej Karpathy tweeted about it, the user base exploded overnight. Legit endorsement from one of the most respected people in AI.

To be fair, that is cheaper than Wispr Flow ($15/month, $180/year). And SuperWhisper gives you a lot for that price. I will get to that.
But free is free and for students or anyone watching their budget, $101.88 adds up. That is textbooks. That is groceries. That is a month of groceries tbh.
Rota AI uses free API tiers (Groq, etc.) or your own Ollama setup. No subscription needed.

Features: Where SuperWhisper Flexes
SuperWhisper has more features than Rota AI. Like, a lot more.
SuperWhisper has:

SuperWhisper was built Mac-first. That is where it shines. The Windows version exists but it arrived later and feels like a port. The iOS version is solid too.
Rota AI is Windows-only. That is by design. I built it for my own Windows and workflow, and Windows voice dictation has been underserved for years. Every other tool treats Windows as an afterthought.
If you live on Mac or iPhone, SuperWhisper is the obvious choice. If you are on Windows both work, but Rota AI feels more native.
